The URL of www.modernwarfare3.com was directing web users to EA's official site for the game Battlefield 3.  Many took this as a cut throat approach made by EA to bring viewers seeking Call of Duty to their Battlefield site, this however is not the case.

      The website Net Media Now discovered that www.modernwarfare3.com was set up as a beta sing up scheme. When a Publisher is making a game they usually take as many variations of the title of domain as they can, its interesting to see that one as simple as  www.modernwarfare3.com was not secured. Despite the strong competition between EA and Activision it is highly unlikely that EA would actually pull a stunt like this. I like to think of the conflict between the two publishers aggressive but with fair play in mind.
