Moving to new Central Square offices
Posted by Jon Radoff on Saturday Mar 29, 2008 Under UncategorizedWe just moved into our new offices in Central Square in Cambridge. This is a great place to pull the team together; the area is electic, urban and hip. Public transporation couldn’t be better: we’re right at the midpoint between Harvard and MIT, and the T-stop is right outside our front door. A bunch of other videogame-related companies are in the area: the space we moved into was just vacated by a videogame studio called Demiurge (who moved down the street to a larger building). Next door to us is Harmonix, the company responsible for Guitar Hero and Rock Band. And above us there’s Motus, a company that creates motion-based controller technology. Our main goal with the space is to support a vibe that’s conducive to teamwork, energy, creativity and fun.

Hi Jon,
Great to meet you and welcome to the neighborhood! We’re Motus Games (hopefully moving in to the 4th floor in the next few weeks once they finish our buildout). Looking forward to meeting you and your team.
Best,
Satayan

[...] GuildCafe moves into our new office tomorrow, March 31st. The office will be right smack dab in Central Square in Cambridge, just a stones throw from Harmonix which is the company who made Guitar Hero 1 and 2 as well as the awesomely fun Rock Band. It’ll be my first time ever working in an office environment so it should be interesting and a lot of fun since everyone I’ve in the company has a good sense of humor and we enjoy video games. It’s pretty cool to be able to talk about the upcoming WOW patch or what our favorite games, at work. [...]

As well there’s StyleFeeder (www.stylefeeder.com), the total polar opposite of gaming (think the ultimate wishlist for all that is fabulous), but a new startup that has a very passionate vision.
Plus Phil is a bit of a geek too I suspect!
