GamerDNA.com downtime August 24th-26th

Hello!

Next week we will be taking GamerDNA.com down for an extended period of time while we update the site. This downtime will start at 8pm EST on Monday August 24th, last through all of Tuesday, and will come back up in the morning on Wednesday August 26th.

To see what time it is at the GamerDNA offices right now, please check out the Boston page at TimeAndDate.com.

We need this long period of time to make sure that the update has gone through correctly and that all of the features on gamerDNA work the way they should. We really appreciate everyone’s patience and we apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause, but this is downtime is something that must happen in order to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Important things to remember:

Facebook updates from gamerDNA will not go out during this downtime
Twitter updates from gamerDNA will not go out during this downtime
Tumblr updates from gamerDNA will not go out during this downtime
ALL gameplay that gamerDNA is tracking for you via Xbox Live, Steam or Xfire will still happen during this downtime.

The best way to keep up to date on what is going on is through our Twitter account, at http://www.Twitter.com/GamerDNA. We will be updating Twitter on how things are going, and we may even include some videos and pictures of all the mayhem in the office

Actually, that list isn't "the list" of all the new stuff. Some of the "in progress" things will be coming after this update, though.

This update is some pretty major stuff that we're putting into the site, and not all of it was requested on Get Satisfaction :)

I hope this all goes smoothly. Looking forward to the new changes, I won't have any gDNA to distract me for a bit, but it'll be even more distracting when it comes back up ^_^

Maybe I'll use that time to learn piano, you can learn piano in a few days right? Beethoven here I come!

So I'll have to write what games I played on a post-it so I don't forget to enter it all later! (I blame Sony for not allowing you to pull my gameplay data directly from the PSN.)

With the new update to the site, we will be able to detect when you get trophies on PSN :) We can't detect direct game play, but at least trophies :)

They're saying everything that's normally automatically logged, will still be logged during the site's downtime. You just won't be able to see it, obviously. Once the site is back up, you'll see those gameplay sessions in your calendar as usual.

I suppose if you want to add some personal text to your game posts you could make some notes to help you remember for a few extra days, but you don't have to remember the sessions themselves. Also you'll have to manually update Twitter and the like if you want to report your gaming daily.
